In which Dog fits my pet?

Our new Croozer Dog XL is the first dog bike trailer specially designed for large and heavy breeds. Thanks to its low door, even disabled dogs can easily enter and exit the trailer, enabling you to share enjoyable and stress-free outings with your pet. Below, we’ve listed a variety of dog breeds to help give you an idea of whether our bicycle trailer would be suitable for your four-legged friend.

The following diagram shows the exact dimensions of the trailer so that you can measure whether your dog fits comfortably inside:

You can measure your dog as follows to determine whether the Croozer Dog XL is the right trailer for cycling with your pet:

Here, we’ve listed several dog breeds with an average shoulder height of less than 60 cm (23½ inch) and an average weight of less than 45 kg (99 lb). The dimensions of the Dog XL are ideal for dogs of this size.

  • Airedale Terrier
  • American Staffordshire
  • Boxer
  • Bull Terrier
  • Chow-Chow
  • Collie
  • Dalmatian
  • Small Münsterländer
  • Labrador Retriever
  • Pit Bull
  • Wolfspitz

The breeds listed here usually fit into our Croozer Dog XL. Their shoulder height is generally between 33 and 70 cm (13–27½ inch), and their weight is normally less than 50 kg (110 lb). If your dog is taller or heavier than average, there’s a chance that it may not be able to ride comfortably in the trailer. You can check by taking your dog’s measurements.

  • Afghan Hound
  • Beagle
  • Belgian Shepherd
  • Bloodhound
  • Old English Sheepdog
  • Bouvier des Flandres
  • Briard
  • Bulldog
  • German Longhaired Pointer

The following breeds, with a shoulder height of between 55 and 82 cm (21½–32 inch) and a weight of up to 60 kg (132 lb), are often a bit too large and heavy for the Croozer Dog XL. However, if your dog is somewhat lighter and smaller than average, then it might be able to enjoy riding in the Croozer. Measure your dog’s height and weight to be on the safe side.

  • Borzoi
  • Berger de Brie
  • Bernese Mountain Dog
  • German Shepherd
  • Dobermann
  • Greyhound
  • Hovawart

The following dog breeds are normally too large and heavy to ride in the Croozer Dog XL. However, if your dog is relatively small for its breed and does not weigh more than 45 kg (99 lb), it may be able to ride in the Dog XL.
These breeds usually have a shoulder height of between 55 and 80 cm (21½–31½ inch) and a weight of 40 to 75 kg (88–165 lb). Therefore, most are too large for riding in the Dog XL. In case of doubt, check your dog’s height and weight.

  • Dogue de Bordeaux
  • Leonberger
  • Newfoundland
  • Pyrenean Mastiff
  • Rottweiler

We want your dog to feel safe and comfortable in his bicycle trailer. Therefore, it is also important to make sure that the trailer is not too large for him. Here are a few examples of dog breeds that would be too small to ride comfortably in the Croozer Dog XL:

  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
  • Chihuahua
  • Dachshund
  • French Bulldog
  • Havanese
  • Jack Russell Terrier
  • Yorkshire Terrier
  • Miniature Schnauzer
